Sri Lanka and Maldives Discuss Joint Tourism Promotion Initiative

The Sri Lankan government is exploring a collaborative tourism initiative with the Maldives to enhance regional tourism efforts.

This initiative was the focus of discussions at the Presidential Secretariat during a meeting between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Maldivian High Commissioner Masood Imad.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner congratulated the Sri Lankan government on its recent electoral victory and commended the positive changes taking place in the country. Discussions also highlighted the strong 60-year diplomatic relationship between the two nations and ways to further strengthen bilateral ties.

President Dissanayake acknowledged the Maldives’ contributions to enhancing relations and expressed appreciation for the long-standing partnership.

Senior officials, including Senior Additional Secretary to the President Roshan Gamage, Maldives Foreign Secretary Fathimath Inaya, and Additional Secretary Aminath Abdulla Didi, also participated in the discussions.
