Sri Lanka Rupee Opens at 300.90/301.10 Against US Dollar

On Friday, Sri Lanka’s rupee opened at 300.90/301.10 against the US dollar, a marginal decline from Thursday’s close of 300.80/301.30. Dealers noted that bond yields remained steady, while equities experienced a slight dip.

In the bond market, yields were stable across various maturities. Specifically:

  • A bond maturing on December 15, 2026, was quoted at 11.00/15 percent.
  • A bond maturing on July 1, 2028, was quoted at 12.45/60 percent.
  • A bond maturing on June 15, 2029, was quoted at 12.80/55 percent.
  • A bond maturing on May 15, 2030, was quoted at 12.95/13.05 percent, slightly up from 12.85/13.05 percent.

In the equities market, the Colombo All Share Price Index (ASPI) opened 6.23 points lower at 11,451, and the S&P SL20 index, which tracks more liquid stocks, was down 0.11 percent or 3.52 points to 3,292. Market turnover was recorded at 57 million rupees.
