Sri Lankan Apparel Giant Brandix Receives Top BOI Export Award

Sri Lanka’s Board of Investment (BOI) recognized Brandix Apparel, the country’s leading garment manufacturer, as the Most Outstanding Exporter in the Merchandise category at its 45th-anniversary celebration. This prestigious award highlights Brandix’s significant contribution to Sri Lanka’s export sector.

The ceremony featured the presentation of two awards to Brandix. Hasitha Premaratne, Group Managing Director, received the Most Outstanding Exporter award from President Ranil Wickremesinghe. In addition, Ashroff Omar, Brandix’s Group Chief Executive, was presented with a separate award recognizing his Outstanding Individual Contribution towards driving Sri Lanka’s export growth.

Brandix boasts a rich heritage of over 50 years in the apparel industry, solidifying its position as a global leader in garment manufacturing. The company caters to renowned brands worldwide and has established a vertically integrated supply chain spanning Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Haiti, the UK, and the US.

Brandix is not only a leader in production but also a champion of ethical manufacturing practices. The company has achieved several world-firsts in this area, including securing the world’s first LEED Platinum certification for an apparel manufacturing facility in 2008 and becoming the first Net-Zero Carbon certified apparel manufacturer in 2019.

This recognition by the BOI stands as a testament to Brandix’s unwavering dedication to excellence in both quality and sustainability, solidifying its position as a key driver of Sri Lanka’s economic growth.
