On Wednesday, Sri Lanka’s rupee closed weaker against the US dollar, ending at 302.00/40 compared to 301/302.00 the previous day, according to dealers. Simultaneously, bond yields saw a downward trend.
Bond performances varied, with a bond maturing on 15.12.2026 closing at 9.90/10.05 percent, down from 9.95/10.10 percent. Similarly, bonds maturing on 15.09.2027, 15.03.2028, and 15.09.2029 also saw declines in yields.
However, there were exceptions, as a bond maturing on 15.05.2030 closed up at 11.50/65 percent, contrasting with the general trend. Conversely, a bond maturing on 01.10.2032 closed down at 11.80/95 percent.
These fluctuations reflect the dynamic nature of Sri Lanka’s financial market, influenced by various domestic and international factors.
