Sri Lankan Rupee Holds Steady Against US Dollar

Sri Lanka’s rupee opened with minimal movement on Friday, hovering around 301.75/80 per US dollar. This is a slight change from the previous day’s closing rate of 301.85/90.

Bond Yields Mixed

The bond market also saw mixed signals. While some bonds like the one maturing on December 15th, 2026, remained stable at 9.70/80 percent, others experienced slight fluctuations. For example, the bond maturing on September 15th, 2027, saw a small dip to 10.35/50 percent from its previous closing of 10.40/55 percent.

Stock Market Starts Upward

In contrast, the Colombo Stock Exchange opened on a positive note. The All Share Price Index witnessed a slight increase of 0.10 percent, reaching 12,182. However, the S&P SL20 index slipped by 0.23 percent, closing at 3,594.
