Sri Lankan Rupee Strengthens to 300.80/301.05 Against US Dollar

Sri Lanka’s rupee strengthened to 300.80/301.05 against the US dollar on Thursday, compared to 301.55/65 on Wednesday, according to market dealers. Concurrently, bond yields saw an increase across various maturities.

A bond maturing on 15th December 2026 closed at 10.95/11.10 percent, up from 10.80/11.05 percent. The yield for a bond maturing on 15th December 2027 rose to 12.10/20 percent, compared to 11.95/12.10 percent the previous day. Meanwhile, a bond maturing on 1st July 2028 closed at 12.45/55 percent, and a bond maturing on 15th September 2029 saw a slight increase, closing at 12.50/75 percent from 12.50/70 percent.
