Sri Lanka’s rupee weakened against the US dollar, with the spot market rate quoted at 296.20/50 on Thursday, compared to the previous day’s rate of 295.50/90. Meanwhile, bond yields remained largely unchanged.
Stocks rose by 0.64 percent in mid-day trading.
Bond yield updates for various maturities are as follows:
- A bond maturing on 15.12.2026 was quoted at 9.35/40 percent, a slight increase from 9.35/50 percent on Wednesday.
- A bond maturing on 15.02.2028 was quoted at 10.12/15 percent, up from 10.05/15 percent.
- A bond maturing on 01.05.2028 showed no significant change, quoted at 10.25/30 percent compared to 10.25/33 percent on Wednesday.
- A bond maturing on 15.09.2029 saw a small decline, quoted at 10.75/83 percent, down from 10.75/85 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.10.2030 remained stable at 11.25/30 percent.
This reflects a relatively stable bond market despite the rupee’s depreciation against the US dollar.
