TBWA\Sri Lanka has secured the top Industry Leader position at the 2026 Dragons of Sri Lanka, marking a significant achievement for the agency after its work earned seven awards across four campaigns.
TBWA\Sri Lanka has been named the No. 1 Industry Leader at the 2026 Dragons of Sri Lanka, winning seven awards across four campaigns for Hutch and Maliban.
The recognition includes one Gold, two Silver, two Bronze and two Black Dragons, with the winning campaigns developed for two long-standing clients, Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka and Maliban Biscuit Manufactories. The breadth of the awards also highlights the agency’s ability to apply different creative approaches to a range of commercial, consumer and social challenges.
Leading the agency’s performance was Hutch Roaming – The Roaming Hack, which secured Gold in the Artificial Intelligence category and a Black Dragon in Small Budget. The campaign demonstrated how technology could be used not simply as a communications tool, but as a creative enabler to address a practical consumer problem in an unconventional way.
The campaign’s recognition in both Artificial Intelligence and Small Budget also illustrates how innovation does not necessarily depend on large-scale spending. Instead, the idea focused on finding an effective solution to a specific consumer challenge and using technology to strengthen the proposition.
Another recognised Hutch campaign, Hutch Pissuwak (“This is Crazy”), won Silver in the Product Launch or Re-launch category. The award recognised the campaign’s distinctive creative approach in introducing a Hutch proposition to consumers.
For Maliban Biscuit Manufactories, HumaniTill received Silver in Event or Experiential and Bronze in Cause, Environment or Sustainability. The campaign focused on transforming the act of giving into a tangible experience, creating a stronger connection between participation and positive social impact.
Maliban’s The One Breath Challenge, developed for Clean Air Day, added another Bronze in Media as well as a Black Dragon in Creative Excellence. Together, the awards demonstrate the range of work produced by the agency, spanning artificial intelligence, product launches, experiential marketing, sustainability, media and broader creative excellence.
The result is particularly notable because the seven awards came from only four campaigns. Rather than relying on a single successful execution, the agency’s performance was spread across different ideas and categories, reinforcing the breadth of its creative capabilities.
Nathasoruban Sivapatham, Chief Creative Officer of TBWA\Sri Lanka, said the breadth of the recognition was among the most rewarding aspects of the result. He highlighted campaigns that addressed fundamentally different challenges, from applying AI to a roaming proposition to turning giving into a lived experience.
His comments reflect the agency’s stated creative philosophy, Disruption® in Action, which encourages teams to question conventional approaches and identify new ways for brands to connect with consumers. The philosophy is positioned not as disruption for its own sake, but as a process of finding a more effective answer to a particular business or audience challenge.
Renuka Marshall, Managing Director of TBWA\Sri Lanka, similarly described the No. 1 Industry Leader recognition as a reflection of that approach. She emphasised the importance of bringing a different way of thinking to each client challenge while maintaining a focus on creating better answers for brands and their audiences.
The agency also attributed the achievement to its long-standing client relationships. Ahmed T. Hassan, Chief Operating Officer of TBWA\Sri Lanka, said the recognised work was supported by teams willing to challenge conventional thinking, collaborate closely and push ideas further, alongside client trust in the agency’s willingness to take a different approach.
For the advertising and marketing industry, the 2026 Dragons of Sri Lanka recognition places particular emphasis on the relationship between creativity, technology and business outcomes. The award-winning campaigns show how creative agencies are increasingly expected to move beyond traditional advertising formats and develop ideas that address practical consumer needs, social issues and changing media environments.
For TBWA\Sri Lanka, the No. 1 Industry Leader title represents another milestone in its efforts to turn unconventional thinking into commercially and socially relevant ideas. With recognition across seven categories and four campaigns, the result underlines the agency’s continued focus on creative work designed to challenge expectations while delivering meaningful value for clients and audiences.
