The Unlabelled Runway 2026 Brings Fashion and Purpose Together

The Unlabelled Runway 2026 has brought fashion, inclusion and social impact together, using the runway as a platform to celebrate individuality, resilience and belonging ahead of its September showcase.

The Unlabelled Runway 2026 puts inclusion, individuality and social impact centre stage

The second consecutive edition of The Unlabelled Runway was officially introduced at a press conference held at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo on 2 September 2026, ahead of the main showcase scheduled for 25 September.

Presented by Caroline J Global Holdings, the purpose-driven fashion initiative seeks to move beyond the traditional concept of a fashion show. Instead, it uses fashion, storytelling and representation to create conversations around inclusion, confidence and the way society views individuals from different backgrounds.

The initiative brings together professional models, public personalities, designers and people whose stories are not always represented on conventional fashion platforms. Among the participants are young people from partner organisations, persons with disabilities, and cancer patients and survivors.

By placing such a diverse group of participants on one runway, the event aims to challenge labels and assumptions that can influence how individuals are perceived and valued. Its central message is that fashion can provide more than visual entertainment when it is used to create visibility and encourage greater social understanding.

The event is being held in collaboration with SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, Indira Cancer Trust, Child Action Lanka and the Roshan Mahanama Trust. The partnerships bring together organisations working with children, families, patients, survivors and vulnerable communities, strengthening the event’s focus on representation and opportunity.

Caroline Jurie, Founder and Chairperson of Caroline J Global Holdings, said the initiative was created around the idea of giving people the confidence and space to be themselves.

“Fashion has the ability to do more than showcase beauty. It can give people confidence, create visibility and start conversations that matter,” she said, describing the runway as an effort to remove the labels society places on people and reinforce the idea that everyone deserves to be seen, valued and included.

A significant feature of the September showcase will be the Pink Runway, dedicated to breast cancer awareness. The segment will highlight the courage and resilience of people affected by cancer while bringing together public figures, professional models and individuals connected to the cause.

The inclusion of the Pink Runway adds a specific awareness dimension to the event, using the visibility of a fashion platform to draw attention to an issue that affects individuals and families across communities. It also reinforces the wider emphasis on resilience that runs through the initiative.

Alongside its social purpose, the event will showcase Sri Lankan and international design talent. Designers from Sri Lanka and overseas will contribute to a wider fashion and cultural experience, creating an environment where creative expression and social messaging are presented together.

The organisers have positioned inclusive fashion as an important part of the concept, with the runway designed to broaden the definition of who can participate in and be represented by the fashion industry. Rather than focusing solely on conventional models and established industry personalities, the event places individuals with different experiences at the centre of the showcase.

The main event is scheduled to take place on 25 September 2026 at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo. The evening will include a VIP reception, the runway presentation and a cocktail networking experience. Tickets are available through PickMe Explore, providing attendees with access to an event that combines fashion, entertainment, networking and a wider social message.

The press conference also marked the launch of the Caroline J Global Holdings website. The new digital platform is intended to provide a central space for the company to present its work across fashion, beauty, talent, events and purpose-driven initiatives, while giving greater visibility to its projects and collaborations.

The digital launch reflects the broader evolution of fashion and lifestyle businesses, where online platforms increasingly serve as channels for building brands, showcasing talent and communicating values. For Caroline J Global Holdings, the website provides another avenue through which its activities and future initiatives can reach a wider audience.

With media representatives, corporate leaders, designers, personalities, influencers and other distinguished guests expected to engage with the initiative, The Unlabelled Runway 2026 is positioning itself as more than a single evening of fashion.

Its wider ambition is to create a space where people can be recognised for who they are rather than defined by labels. In that sense, the runway combines creative expression with social impact, demonstrating how fashion events can be used to support awareness, encourage inclusion and give greater visibility to stories that might otherwise remain outside the mainstream.

As the September showcase approaches, the initiative will seek to build on its second consecutive edition by bringing together the fashion industry, corporate community and social organisations around a shared message of representation and belonging.

The Unlabelled Runway 2026 ultimately reflects an expanding role for purpose-led events in Sri Lanka, where fashion can serve not only as a showcase for design and creativity but also as a platform for confidence, conversation and meaningful social engagement.
