WIS Accountancy Launches AI-Powered Mortgage Platform MortgagX and Expands Operations in Sri Lanka

WIS Accountancy, a prominent digital accountancy, bookkeeping, tax, and business advisory service provider in the UK, is broadening its reach both in the UK and Sri Lanka. This year, the company unveiled MortgagX, an innovative AI-driven mortgage platform in the UK, aimed at transforming the mortgage experience for customers, advisors, and lenders alike.

The development and management of this platform are primarily based offshore, with a talented team in Colombo and India working to streamline the mortgage process. By making it more efficient, secure, and user-friendly, WIS Accountancy is poised to reshape the future of mortgages. In a further UK expansion, the WIS group also launched Collective Legal Surrey, entering the legal sector with a focus on conveyancing.

Having been a well-established name in financial services for 15 years, WIS Accountancy is now integrating its mortgage services with conveyancing through WIS Mortgages. A strategic partnership with Homey, a cutting-edge conveyancing referral platform, ensures a seamless, efficient customer experience.

To support these innovative services, WIS is establishing an academy for finance, banking, and legal studies in Sri Lanka. This initiative, a rare endeavor by companies, will offer scholarships and promote British qualifications, fostering the growth of skilled professionals in the region.

Moreover, WIS has partnered with a UK-based bank to outsource its underwriting functions to Colombo, creating 250 job opportunities in the banking sector, including senior roles in credit and underwriting.

WIS has also announced career opportunities for school leavers, university graduates, and soon-to-be graduates in accountancy and finance. These positions, including management trainee and underwriter roles, will allow successful candidates to work with UK-based financial services from the Sri Lankan office. In addition, candidates will be offered scholarships to pursue qualifications like ACCA, CIMA, or CeMAP.

This initiative is expected to significantly impact Sri Lanka’s economy, offering 250 job opportunities, fostering professional development, and drawing foreign investment into the country. The WIS Group’s partnership with UK legal firms is expected to further generate employment opportunities in the legal sector, contributing to Sri Lanka’s economic recovery.
