A 12-member delegation from Oneroad Group DMCC Dubai, a prominent global investment consortium, concluded a fruitful visit to Sri Lanka from July 7-14, 2024. Led by Chenling Zhang, Group CEO of Oneroad Group, the delegation focused on sectors vital to Sri Lanka’s economic advancement, including tourism, minerals, transportation, and the Colombo Port City project. The visit was accompanied by Sri Lankan Ambassador to the UAE, Udaya Indrarathna.
Throughout their stay, the delegation engaged in significant meetings with several high-profile Sri Lankan officials. These included President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Sabry, Minister of Industries Ramesh Pathirana, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara, Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Mahinda Amaraweera, Minister of Tourism & Lands Harin Fernando, State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya, and State Minister of Investment Promotion Dilum Amunugama.
The discussions highlighted a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation and exploring opportunities for sustainable economic growth. Additionally, the delegation met with influential figures from both the public and private sectors, such as the Chairman of the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, Port City Colombo, the CEO of Akbar Tea, Deputy Chairman of LOLC Holdings PLC, leading entrepreneur Eshana De Silva, and members of the Chamber of Mineral Exporters. These interactions provided valuable insights into Sri Lanka’s investment climate and potential areas for collaboration.
