Sri Lanka’s rupee opened at 302.40/70 to the US dollar on Wednesday, according to dealers. The rupee had closed at 302.48/55 to the greenback on Tuesday. Bond yields remained broadly steady, and stocks opened down by 0.41 percent.
In the secondary market, treasury bond yields were as follows:
- A bond maturing on 15.12.2026 was quoted at 10.50/60 percent, up from 10.45/60 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.12.2027 was quoted at 11.80/90 percent, down from 11.85/12.00 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.02.2028 was quoted at 12.05/15 percent, down from 12.05/20 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.09.2029 was quoted at 12.20/35 percent, down from 12.25/40 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.10.2030 was quoted at 12.75/85 percent.
In the equities market, Colombo’s All Share Price Index opened 47.31 points lower at 11,463, while the S&P SL20 of more liquid stocks opened down by 1.06 percent or 35.43 points to 3,298. The market turnover was 2.9 billion rupees.
