Sri Lanka Rupee Stable at 292.55/75 Against Dollar, Bond Yields Decline

Sri Lanka’s rupee remained stable at 292.55/75 to the US dollar on Tuesday, according to dealers, while bond yields saw a decline.

A bond maturing on 01.05.2027 was quoted at 11.12/18 percent, while a bond maturing on 01.05.2028 was quoted at 11.58/60 percent. The bond maturing on 15.06.2029 was quoted at 11.95/12.00 percent.

An auction of 85,000 million rupees of treasury bonds was also underway.

In the stock market, Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose by 0.45 percent, or 58.58 points, to 12,933.90. Meanwhile, the S&P SL20, which tracks more liquid stocks, increased by 0.72 percent, or 27.89 points, to 3,882. The market turnover reached 699 million rupees.
