Sri Lanka’s rupee opened stronger on Thursday, trading at 290.95/291.05 to the US dollar, compared to 291.00/10 on Wednesday, according to currency dealers.
In the bond market, yields remained steady for most maturities:
- A bond maturing on 15.12.2027 was quoted at 10.25/35 percent, remaining unchanged.
- A bond maturing on 01.05.2028 was quoted at 10.50/60 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.09.2029 saw a slight rise, quoted at 10.90/95 percent, up from the previous 10.80/90 percent.
In the equity market, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose by 0.34 percent, or 44.69 points, to close at 13,094, while the more liquid S&P SL20 index gained 0.55 percent, or 21.28 points, reaching 3,897.
Market turnover for the day stood at 53 million rupees.
