The Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC has appointed new leadership, effective April 22nd, 2024. Sharhan Muhseen takes the helm as Chairman, while Raja Senanayake assumes the role of Deputy Chairman.
Sharhan Muhseen: A Seasoned Investment Banker
Muhseen, previously the bank’s Deputy Chairman, succeeds Prof. Ananda Jayawardane upon his retirement. He boasts extensive experience in investment banking, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and capital markets. This background positions him well to contribute to the bank’s strategic direction.
Raja Senanayake: Financial Services Professional
Raja Senanayake, an independent non-executive director at the bank since 2020, fills the Deputy Chairman vacancy left by Muhseen’s promotion. Senanayake is a Fellow Member of CA Sri Lanka with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.
