Hayleys Solar Powers Successfully Installs 2.3MW Solar Power System at Texlan Centre

Hayleys Solar, the renewable energy division of Hayleys Fentons, recently finalized a substantial solar power installation project, boasting a capacity of 2.3MW for Texlan Centre Pvt Ltd, a prominent hosiery manufacturer and exporter in Sri Lanka. The grid-tied rooftop solar power system, installed atop Texlan’s manufacturing facility in Minuwangoda, has a capacity of 2,343kWp and is projected to generate 63,539,152kWh of clean energy over the next two decades.

Texlan anticipates that this solar installation will cover approximately 32% of its energy requirements, significantly reducing its reliance on traditional grid power and leading to lower operational costs. Additionally, the initiative is expected to mitigate 46,370 tons of greenhouse gas emissions throughout the project’s lifespan, underlining Texlan’s commitment to sustainability and responsible manufacturing practices.

Muhammed Latif, Managing Director of Texlan Centre Pvt. Ltd., expressed the company’s dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility, citing the solar installation as a significant step in their journey towards cleaner energy practices. The partnership with Hayleys Solar is seen as instrumental in driving Texlan’s commitment to clean energy and setting a new standard for large-scale solar projects in Sri Lanka, according to Hasith Prematillake, Managing Director of Hayleys Fentons Limited.

Roshane Perera, Executive Director and CEO of Hayleys Solar, highlighted the company’s expertise in delivering impactful clean energy solutions, emphasizing their proficiency in design engineering, logistics, and installation. Texlan’s adoption of solar power, facilitated by Hayleys Solar’s capabilities, reflects a broader trend within Sri Lanka’s manufacturing sector of embracing clean energy alternatives and assuming greater environmental responsibility.
