The three-day Build Sri Lanka Housing & Construction International Expo 2024, organized by the Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka, concluded at BMICH yesterday. The expo provided a platform for showcasing the latest developments and innovations in the housing and construction sectors. Notably, a special pavilion was dedicated to the tri forces, allowing them to exhibit their contributions to local infrastructure development and showcase their inventions, including projects like the development of the KKS Port, airports, railways, housing, and road reconstruction, particularly in the conflict-affected areas of the north-east.
The event featured over 200 stalls, including a special Chinese pavilion, and attracted nearly 50,000 trade visitors. As the print media sponsor for the event, Associated Newspapers of Ceylon (Lake House) played a significant role in promoting and covering the expo’s activities. Among the distinguished guests was President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who attended as the Chief Guest and was seen visiting the tri forces pavilion. His presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between the construction industry and defense forces in driving infrastructure development and national progress.
