Sri Lanka Expo 2026 will provide a major platform for exporters to connect with international buyers and investors as applications open for participation in the global trade event scheduled in Colombo this June.
Sri Lanka Expo 2026 invites exporters to connect with global buyers
Sri Lanka Expo 2026 will take place from June 18 to 21 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall, bringing together exporters, international buyers, and investors for one of the country’s largest global trade platforms.
Organised by the Sri Lanka Export Development Board, the exhibition aims to strengthen trade links between Sri Lankan businesses and global markets while showcasing the diversity and competitiveness of the nation’s export sectors. The event is expected to attract more than 1,500 overseas buyers and investors seeking new sourcing opportunities.
The EDB has called on Sri Lankan exporters, export-oriented enterprises, and companies with export potential to apply for participation in the exhibition. According to the board, the initiative is designed to expand international market access for local industries while positioning the country as a competitive export hub in the region.
A key highlight of the event is the opportunity for exhibitors to conduct pre-arranged business meetings with global buyers. These meetings are expected to create direct engagement between Sri Lankan suppliers and potential international partners, enabling companies to negotiate deals, establish supply chains, and explore long-term collaborations.
Organisers have allocated approximately 650 exhibition booths for Sri Lankan companies across a wide range of industries. These booths will allow businesses to present their products and services to a global audience while promoting Sri Lanka’s export capabilities in both manufacturing and services.
Industrial products form a major segment of the exhibition. These include apparel, textiles and fashion products, rubber and plastic goods, chemicals, gems and jewellery, engineering and automotive components, and electrical and electronic equipment. Other sectors such as boat and shipbuilding, marine services, minerals and mineral-based products, and printing and packaging are also expected to be showcased.
In addition to manufacturing sectors, lifestyle and creative industries will also feature prominently. Giftware, handicrafts, and lifestyle products will highlight Sri Lanka’s artisan heritage while appealing to international retail and wholesale buyers seeking distinctive products from emerging markets.
The agro-industrial sector will also play a central role in the exhibition. Products such as tea, spices and concentrates, coconut-based products, seafood and edible fish products, processed foods and beverages, and fruits and vegetables will be displayed. Traditional wellness products including Ayurveda, herbal formulations, cosmetics, and ornamental fish are also among the sectors included in the exhibition lineup.
Beyond physical goods, Sri Lanka’s growing export services sector will also be represented at the event. Services related to information and communication technology (ICT), business process management (BPM), logistics, tourism, construction, renewable energy, and healthcare will be promoted as part of the country’s expanding services export portfolio.
The organisers say the exhibition will function as a comprehensive international trade exhibition platform that allows companies to showcase innovation, build business networks, and strengthen export growth strategies.
Given the limited number of exhibition booths available, the EDB has indicated that a screening process will be conducted to select eligible participants. Companies will be evaluated based on their export potential, product quality, and readiness to engage with international markets.
Applications for Sri Lanka Expo 2026 will close on March 31, 2026. Selected applicants are expected to be notified by the first week of April, allowing them sufficient time to prepare for the exhibition and coordinate meetings with overseas buyers.
The EDB has encouraged interested exporters to submit applications early due to the anticipated high demand for participation. Officials note that the exhibition represents a valuable opportunity for Sri Lankan businesses to expand their international footprint and strengthen relationships with global trade partners.
For further information, exporters can contact designated EDB officers responsible for different sectors, including industrial products, agro-industrial products, and services. General inquiries regarding registration and participation can also be directed to the EDB through official communication channels.
With international demand for diversified supply chains increasing, Sri Lanka Expo 2026 is expected to play an important role in promoting the country’s export industries while facilitating new trade partnerships and investment opportunities.
