Sri Lanka’s rupee opened marginally stronger at 290.35/40 to the US dollar on Thursday, compared to 290.40/50 to the US dollar on Wednesday, according to dealers. Meanwhile, bond yields saw a decline.
A bond maturing on 15.12.2027 was quoted at 10.10/15 percent. A bond maturing on 15.03.2028 was quoted at 10.35/45 percent, down from 10.45/55 percent. A bond maturing on 15.09.2029 was quoted at 10.75/85 percent, slightly down from 10.80/95 percent.
In the equities market, the All Share Price Index increased by 0.29 percent, or 38.72 points, reaching 13,550. The more liquid S&P SL20 index rose by 0.48 percent, or 19.12 points, to 4,035. The turnover for the day stood at 368 million rupees.
