On 13th December 2024, Sri Lanka’s rupee opened at 290.20/25 against the US dollar, showing a marginal improvement from the previous day’s close of 290.20/35, according to market dealers. Meanwhile, bond yields remained steady across the board.
- A bond maturing on 15.02.2028 was quoted at 10.18/28, down from 10.25/35 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.10.2028 was quoted at 10.45/55, down from 10.50/60 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.09.2029 was quoted stable at 10.70/80 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.05.2030 was quoted at 10.95/11.10 percent.
In the equities market, the All Share Price Index (ASPI) rose by 0.47%, or 65.29 points, closing at 14,101. The more liquid S&P SL20 also saw an increase, up 0.69%, or 28.88 points, at 4,215. Total turnover for the day reached 621 million rupees.
