Sri Lanka’s rupee opened almost unchanged at 302.10/30 to the US dollar on Friday, maintaining stability from the previous day’s close of 302.20/30. Bond yields remained broadly steady, according to dealers.
In the secondary market, treasury bond yields were largely stable:
- A bond maturing on 15.12.2026 was quoted at 10.50/70 percent, slightly up from 10.50/65 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.12.2027 was quoted at 11.80/85 percent, down from 11.80/95 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.02.2028 remained stable at 12.05/15 percent.
- A bond maturing on 15.09.2029 was quoted at 12.25/40 percent, down from 12.20/45 percent.
In the equities market, Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) opened 32.66 points higher at 11,472. The S&P SL20 index of more liquid stocks also rose by 0.23 percent or 7.43 points to 3,289. The market turnover was 115 million rupees.
