On Friday, the Sri Lankan rupee opened stronger, trading at 299.80/300.00 against the US dollar, up from 299.90/300.10 the previous day. Dealers noted that bond yields showed a slight increase.
A bond maturing on 15th December 2027 was quoted at 11.75/85 percent, up from 11.65/90 percent. Meanwhile, a bond maturing on 15th February 2028 saw rates decline slightly to 12.05/10 percent, down from 12.05/20 percent. The bond maturing on 15th September 2029 was quoted at 12.30/35 percent.
In the stock market, Colombo’s All Share Price Index (ASPI) opened 0.28 percent higher, gaining 32.54 points to reach 11,704. The S&P SL20 Index of more liquid stocks also saw a rise of 0.53 percent, gaining 17.81 points to stand at 3,402.
Market turnover was recorded at 3 million rupees.
