Sri Lanka’s BOI Honors Virtusa as ‘Outstanding Exporter

Virtusa Corporation, a leading global provider of digital business strategy, engineering, and IT services, received accolades as one of the Most Outstanding Exporters in the Services category by the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI). The recognition, bestowed upon Virtusa and 29 other organizations, underscores their significant contributions to export performance and foreign direct investment (FDI). The awards ceremony, held at the Presidential Secretariat, marked the 45th anniversary of the BOI and was attended by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Minister of Investment Promotion Dilum Amunugama, and BOI Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody.

President Wickremesinghe lauded the pivotal role of BOI-affiliated companies in propelling Sri Lanka’s economic growth, highlighting the nation’s aspiration to transition into a highly competitive, export-oriented economy. The event also served as a platform for the President to affirm the government’s commitment to advancing the digital economy, including plans to establish a new digital exchange agency and allocate funding for Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives.
