Textile expo Intex and InMac Sri Lanka 2026 to showcase global sourcing and garment technology

Scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 August 2026 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), the co-located exhibitions will provide a comprehensive platform for textile sourcing, manufacturing innovation, automation, and international business networking.

Recognised as one of the region’s leading business-to-business exhibitions, the event combines Intex – The Premier International Textile Sourcing Show with InMac – Smart Technology and Innovation in Gar-Tex Machinery, offering manufacturers access to global suppliers and the latest advancements in garment production technologies.

The Textile expo Intex and InMac Sri Lanka 2026 is expected to host more than 300 international companies representing over 15 countries and regions, making it the largest edition of the exhibition held in Sri Lanka to date.

The event comes at a pivotal time for the Sri Lanka apparel industry, which continues to pursue higher export earnings through greater innovation, sustainability, and manufacturing efficiency. Industry stakeholders view technology adoption and stronger global supply chain integration as essential components of achieving the country’s long-term export objectives.

At Intex Sri Lanka, exhibitors will showcase a broad range of products covering fibres, yarns, fabrics, accessories, trims, and sustainable materials. The exhibition is designed to strengthen textile sourcing opportunities by connecting Sri Lankan manufacturers with suppliers and buyers from South Asia, ASEAN, Europe, and the Middle East.

Organisers say the platform will enable manufacturers to diversify supply chains, discover new materials, and establish commercial partnerships that support export competitiveness.

Running alongside Intex, InMac Sri Lanka will focus on advanced garment manufacturing technologies, responding to the industry’s increasing emphasis on automation and digital transformation. International machinery manufacturers are expected to introduce next-generation sewing equipment, automated cutting systems, digital textile printing technologies, and environmentally friendly finishing solutions.

These innovations are intended to help apparel manufacturers improve productivity, reduce production costs, enhance sustainability, and transition towards higher-value manufacturing operations.

According to Worldex India Executive Director Arti Bhagat, this year’s exhibition reflects growing international confidence in Sri Lanka’s manufacturing sector. She noted that the expanded China Pavilion and strong participation from Indian companies demonstrate continued global interest in supporting Sri Lanka’s apparel industry as it advances towards its 2030 export ambitions.

Bhagat said the combination of international raw material suppliers and advanced machinery providers creates a complete business platform capable of supporting the industry’s next phase of growth and competitiveness.

In addition to product exhibitions, the three-day event will feature the Interactive Business Forum (IBF) Seminars, bringing together industry experts to discuss key trends shaping the future of global manufacturing. Seminar topics will include circular economy practices, sustainability, digital transformation, smart manufacturing, and emerging opportunities within international apparel supply chains.

The programme will also include structured business-to-business (B2B) meetings, allowing local manufacturers, exporters, sourcing professionals, and overseas buyers to explore new commercial partnerships and investment opportunities.

The Textile expo Intex and InMac Sri Lanka 2026 is expected to strengthen Sri Lanka’s position as a regional manufacturing hub by providing businesses with access to international suppliers, cutting-edge technologies, and global market intelligence. As the Sri Lanka apparel industry continues investing in innovation and sustainable production, improved textile sourcing capabilities and stronger international collaboration are expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting export growth over the coming years.
