Vietjet has announced a special introductory promotion for its new Colombo–Ho Chi Minh City service, offering one-way Eco fares starting from USD90, inclusive of all taxes and fees, together with 20kg of complimentary checked baggage. The campaign comes ahead of the airline’s inaugural direct flights between Sri Lanka and Vietnam, which are scheduled to commence on 18 August 2026.
The promotional offer is available from 22:30 on 20 July until 21:30 on 23 July 2026 (Sri Lanka time) through the airline’s official website and the Vietjet Air mobile application. Passengers who select a 20kg checked baggage option during the booking process will receive the baggage allowance free of charge, regardless of the fare class purchased. The offer is valid for travel between 18 August 2026 and 31 March 2027, subject to blackout dates.
The new Colombo–Ho Chi Minh City route will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flights will depart Bandaranaike International Airport at 11:00 p.m., arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City at 5:55 a.m. the following day. Return services will leave Ho Chi Minh City at 6:15 p.m. and land in Colombo at 9:50 p.m., with all schedules operating in local time.
The launch marks an important milestone in Sri Lanka Vietnam travel, providing the first scheduled air connection between the two countries.
