The Colombo Border has reached a major construction milestone, with Prime Lands Residencies PLC confirming the completion of the superstructures of all three residential towers ahead of the project’s original schedule.
The Colombo Border advances toward 2027 handovers with major construction milestone
The achievement marks the completion of one of the development’s most complex construction phases and brings the integrated residential project in Peliyagoda significantly closer to its planned handover, which is scheduled to commence from mid-2027 onwards.
The milestone follows the earlier topping out of Tower Cosmos and confirms that the superstructures of Brielle, Cosmos and Amaa have now been completed. The progress represents an important stage in the development of one of the larger integrated residential projects being undertaken in the greater Colombo area.
Located in Peliyagoda, an emerging residential and commercial hub at the gateway to Colombo, The Colombo Border has been designed around the concept of connected urban living. The project aims to combine residential convenience with recreation, sustainability, open spaces and community-oriented amenities.
The development spans approximately 6.5 acres of Prime real estate and comprises three residential towers. These include two- and three-bedroom residences, together with a limited number of four-bedroom penthouses. The project has allocated approximately five acres to landscaped gardens, leisure areas, recreational facilities and open green spaces.
This allocation of space is a central feature of the development’s design. Rather than focusing solely on residential structures, the project seeks to create an environment where residents can access outdoor areas, recreational amenities and shared spaces within the development. The approach reflects the growing demand for residential communities that offer more than the basic functions of a home.
The completion of the superstructures also highlights the construction strategy adopted by Prime Lands Residencies. Two specialized engineering teams have been working in parallel across the site, allowing the towers to progress simultaneously while maintaining coordination between the different construction activities.
Prime Construction Ltd., the Group’s in-house construction arm, is responsible for the construction of two towers, while Sanken Lanka Ltd. leads the construction of the third. The involvement of the two construction teams has supported the project’s pace of execution and contributed to the completion of the three superstructures.
The Colombo Border milestone reflects the importance of coordinated planning and engineering execution in large-scale residential developments. Completing the structural framework of multiple towers requires careful management of materials, labour, engineering requirements, safety procedures and construction schedules. Prime Lands Residencies said the progress demonstrates the effectiveness of its planning and the commitment of the teams involved.
Commenting on the achievement, Prime Lands Residencies PLC Chairperson Sandamini Perera said the completion of the superstructures across all three towers represented another important achievement for the Group and the wider project.
She noted that maintaining the construction pace without compromising quality reflected the company’s commitment to delivering projects on schedule. Perera also emphasized the importance of buyer confidence, stating that the trust placed in the Prime brand represents an investment the company intends to honour through quality engineering and construction excellence as the development moves into its next phase.
The project is positioned as a future-ready residential option for both homeowners and investors. Its location near Colombo, combined with its planned amenities and extensive green spaces, is intended to appeal to buyers seeking access to the capital while also looking for a more comprehensive residential environment.
The Peliyagoda residential development is also benefiting from the area’s broader evolution as a strategically located urban hub. Its proximity to Colombo and major transport connections makes the area relevant to buyers considering accessibility, commuting convenience and long-term property value.
Market interest in the project is reflected in the reported sales performance of Tower Cosmos, which is completely sold out. Prime Lands Residencies stated that limited two- and three-bedroom apartments remain available in the development, with prices starting from Rs. 48 million upwards.
The remaining availability provides an opportunity for buyers considering a residence in the project, as well as existing homeowners seeking to expand their property portfolios. However, purchasing decisions remain dependent on individual financial circumstances, property requirements and assessment of the wider residential market.
With the structural phase of all three towers now completed, the project will move into its next stages of construction and development. The progress places The Colombo Border closer to its intended delivery timeline and provides a visible indication of the scale of the development taking shape in Peliyagoda.
For Prime Lands Residencies, the milestone reinforces its position in Sri Lanka’s residential property sector and highlights its focus on large-scale developments supported by coordinated construction execution. For prospective buyers, the completion of the superstructures represents a tangible step toward the delivery of a residential community designed around connectivity, amenities and long-term urban living.
