Dialog Axiata PLC has entered into a strategic partnership with OREL Corporation Ltd., marking a significant step toward strengthening Sri Lanka’s connected technology ecosystem. The collaboration brings together Dialog’s established digital platforms and OREL’s expertise in product design and manufacturing, creating a unified approach to smart living solutions.

The initiative focuses on integrating digital entertainment and smart home technologies into a seamless user experience. As part of the partnership, the Dialog Play Smart TV App will be embedded into OREL’s smart television range, allowing users to access a broad library of content directly without requiring additional hardware. This integration is expected to simplify how consumers engage with digital entertainment, aligning with broader industry trends toward all-in-one platforms.

In parallel, the two companies are working on co-branded smart home devices designed to function through Dialog’s Smart Home App. The first product in this line will be smart power strips, signaling the beginning of a broader product ecosystem aimed at enhancing home automation capabilities in Sri Lanka. These devices are expected to offer users greater control, convenience, and energy efficiency within their homes.

This collaboration highlights a shared strategic vision to expand the country’s smart ecosystem by leveraging complementary capabilities. OREL contributes its strength in hardware engineering and manufacturing, while Dialog brings its digital infrastructure, customer reach, and service integration expertise. Together, they aim to deliver solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also tailored to local consumer needs.

Group Chief Operating Officer of Dialog Axiata, Lim Li San, emphasized that simplifying the integration of technology into everyday life remains a core objective for the company. He noted that embedding the Dialog Play App into OREL Smart TVs enables customers to access over 50,000 hours of content seamlessly. Furthermore, the addition of locally manufactured smart home devices into the Dialog Smart Home platform is expected to accelerate the adoption of smart living solutions across the country.

OREL Corporation’s Chief Operating Officer, Manjula Priyadarshana, highlighted the company’s end-to-end capabilities in design engineering, hardware development, and manufacturing. He stated that the partnership with Dialog enhances OREL’s ability to deliver integrated solutions by combining high-quality hardware with intuitive digital interfaces. This, he added, positions both companies to strengthen their presence in Sri Lanka’s growing smart technology market.

The partnership comes at a time when demand for connected living solutions is increasing globally and locally. Consumers are increasingly seeking integrated platforms that combine entertainment, convenience, and control within a single ecosystem. By addressing this demand, Dialog and OREL are positioning themselves at the forefront of Sri Lanka’s digital transformation journey.

Beyond immediate product offerings, the collaboration also lays the groundwork for future innovation in connected technologies. Both companies have indicated a commitment to expanding their portfolio of smart devices and digital services, potentially introducing new solutions that further integrate daily living with digital ecosystems.

Importantly, the partnership underscores a move toward locally relevant innovation. By incorporating domestically manufactured devices into a broader digital platform, the initiative supports local industry while delivering solutions tailored to Sri Lankan households. This localized approach may also contribute to greater adoption rates, as consumers become more comfortable with technology designed for their specific needs.

As Dialog and OREL partner to advance smart living, the collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping how Sri Lankans interact with technology in their homes. By combining accessibility, functionality, and innovation, the initiative reflects a broader shift toward smarter, more connected lifestyles that are both practical and scalable.
