Designed to support rising demand for organic spice exports, the processing centre strengthens Expo Commodities Global’s ability to deliver high-quality Sri Lankan spices that meet the evolving requirements of global buyers. The company said the facility has been developed with a strong focus on maintaining product integrity, operational efficiency and consistent quality throughout the production process.
The operation is supported by carefully managed sourcing and quality assurance systems that are aligned with internationally recognised organic standards, including USDA National Organic Program (NOP), EU Organic, JAS and Bio Suisse certifications. Through direct sourcing from farmer groups and quality verification at every stage—from processing through to final dispatch—the company aims to ensure full traceability and reliability across its supply chain.
Beyond enhancing export capabilities, the investment is also expected to generate wider economic benefits for Sri Lanka’s spice sector. By working directly with farmer groups, the facility supports rural communities while creating employment opportunities in processing, quality assurance and logistics.
