New Anthoney’s Feeds Wins Four Golds and a Silver at NCQP 2026 for quality excellence

The awards were announced on 17 June during the National Convention on Quality and Productivity (NCQP) 2026 held at the Mount Lavinia Hotel in Colombo, marking another milestone in the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The latest achievement represents a significant improvement over the company’s performance at NCQP 2025, when it secured two Gold Awards. By winning four Gold Awards and one Silver Award this year, New Anthoney’s Feeds has further strengthened its position among Sri Lanka’s highest-performing organisations in workplace quality and productivity initiatives.

Organised annually by the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP), the National Convention on Quality and Productivity is recognised as the country’s premier platform for showcasing workplace innovation and continuous improvement.

The 2026 edition was the largest in the convention’s history, attracting more than 2,000 delegates representing over 100 organisations. A total of 450 improvement teams participated across several categories, including Quality Control Circles, Lean Six Sigma, Quality Improvement Teams, Cross-Functional Teams and Kaizen.

Held under the theme “People-Driven Quality and Productivity for a Resilient Sri Lanka,” the convention celebrated organisations that have successfully embedded quality management principles into their business operations.

For New Anthoney’s Feeds, this year’s results build upon an increasingly strong record at the national event. The company’s double Gold performance in 2025 earned it the opportunity to represent Sri Lanka at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) 2025 in Taiwan.

The improved results achieved in 2026 demonstrate the company’s continued focus on raising internal performance standards while promoting a culture of continuous improvement across its operations.

Commenting on the achievement, Neil Suraweera, Chief Executive Officer of New Anthoney’s Group, said the recognition reflects the dedication of the company’s workforce and its long-standing commitment to operational excellence.

“At New Anthoney’s, we don’t just raise chickens, we raise standards. This result is a reflection of the people behind our operations, and the culture of continuous improvement they live by every single day,” he said.

New Anthoney’s Feeds serves as the feed manufacturing division of New Anthoney’s Group, one of Sri Lanka’s leading fully integrated poultry producers. The Group is also recognised as the country’s only poultry producer that raises chickens without antibiotics at any stage of production.

Established in Hanwella in 1986 by Chairman Emil Stanley and Directress S.M.D. Marie Seetha Lakshmee, the company began with just 1,000 birds and a vision of producing safe, high-quality food for Sri Lankan consumers.

Today, the Group manages the entire poultry value chain, including feed production, hatcheries, farming, processing and retail distribution. Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as HarithaHari, Chicken Havens, Crizzpys, Frenchys and the Meatlery retail network.

The company’s success at the National Convention on Quality and Productivity complements a broad portfolio of internationally recognised certifications that support its commitment to food safety and quality management.

These include FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 9001:2015, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certifications. New Anthoney’s is also the only poultry company in Sri Lanka to hold a GHG Verification Statement under ISO 14064-1:2018, certified by Control Union Netherlands.

Earlier this year, the Group further strengthened its quality assurance programme by signing a five-year memorandum of understanding with the University of Peradeniya’s ISO/IEC 17025-accredited Food Safety and Quality Assurance Laboratory. The partnership provides ongoing independent verification of the company’s antibiotic-free production claims.

In addition to its quality achievements, New Anthoney’s Group has also been recognised internationally for its export performance, receiving the Best Exporter in the Processed Food Category at the 26th Presidential Export Awards. The company has also secured investment support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group.

The latest NCQP recognition reflects the company’s continued investment in people, innovation and quality management as it strengthens its position within Sri Lanka’s agri-food industry while maintaining internationally recognised production standards.
