New Anthoney’s Feeds reinforced its reputation for operational excellence after securing four Gold Awards and one Silver Award at the National Convention on Quality and Productivity (NCQP) 2026, with all five improvement projects submitted by the company receiving national recognition.
New Anthoney’s Feeds strengthens quality leadership with five award-winning improvement projects
The awards, announced on 17 June at the Mount Lavinia Hotel in Colombo, represent a significant achievement for the feed manufacturing arm of the New Anthoney’s Group. The latest success builds on the company’s strong performance at NCQP 2026, marking a notable improvement from the two Gold Awards it received at the 2025 convention.
Organised annually by the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity (SLAAQP), the National Convention on Quality and Productivity is Sri Lanka’s premier platform for recognising workplace innovation and continuous improvement. This year’s event was the largest in its history, attracting more than 2,000 delegates from over 100 organisations and assessing 450 improvement teams across multiple categories.
Held under the theme “People-Driven Quality and Productivity for a Resilient Sri Lanka,” the convention evaluated projects in Quality Control Circles, Lean Six Sigma, Quality Improvement Teams, Cross-Functional Teams and Kaizen, highlighting best practices that improve efficiency, productivity and organisational performance.
For New Anthoney’s Feeds, the four Gold Awards and one Silver Award demonstrate the company’s growing commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence. The achievement also reflects the organisation’s sustained investment in employee engagement, innovation and quality management across its manufacturing operations.
The company’s success follows its performance at NCQP 2025, where it secured two Gold Awards in the Cross-Functional Teams and Quality Improvement Projects categories. That achievement qualified the organisation to represent Sri Lanka at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) 2025 in Taiwan.
Commenting on the latest recognition, New Anthoney’s Group Chief Executive Officer Neil Suraweera said the awards reflected the dedication and commitment of employees who continuously strive to improve operational standards.
“At New Anthoney’s, we don’t just raise chickens, we raise standards. This result is a reflection of the people behind our operations, and the culture of continuous improvement they live by every single day,” he said.
New Anthoney’s Feeds serves as the feed manufacturing arm of the New Anthoney’s Group, one of Sri Lanka’s leading integrated poultry producers. The company is recognised as the country’s only poultry producer that raises chickens without antibiotics at any stage of production, reflecting its commitment to food safety and sustainable farming practices.
Established in Hanwella in 1986 by Chairman Emil Stanley and Director S.M.D. Marie Seetha Lakshmee, the Group began with a modest operation of 1,000 birds and has since evolved into one of Sri Lanka’s most comprehensive poultry businesses. Today, it manages the entire production chain, from feed formulation and hatcheries to farming, processing and retail distribution.
Its product portfolio includes the HarithaHari antibiotic-free range alongside well-known consumer brands such as Chicken Havens, Crizzpys, Frenchys and the Meatlery retail network.
The company’s recognition at NCQP 2026 complements an extensive portfolio of internationally recognised certifications that support its commitment to quality and productivity. These include FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 9001:2015, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certifications.
New Anthoney’s is also the only poultry company in Sri Lanka to receive a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Verification Statement under ISO 14064-1:2018, certified by Control Union Netherlands, demonstrating its commitment to environmental sustainability alongside product quality.
Further strengthening consumer confidence, the Group entered into a five-year Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Peradeniya’s ISO/IEC 17025-accredited Food Safety and Quality Assurance Laboratory in January 2026. The partnership provides independent verification of the company’s antibiotic-free production claims.
Beyond operational excellence, the Group has also earned national recognition for its export performance, receiving the Best Exporter in the Processed Food Category at the 26th Presidential Export Awards. It has additionally secured support from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector investment arm of the World Bank Group.
With another outstanding performance at NCQP 2026, New Anthoney’s Feeds continues to strengthen its position as one of Sri Lanka’s leading agri-food manufacturers, demonstrating how a culture of innovation, employee engagement and continuous improvement can deliver consistent quality while supporting sustainable business growth.
