UL Club Sri Lanka held its Annual General Meeting on 6th December 2025, bringing together members to celebrate achievements and elect office bearers for 2025/26. The event reinforced the Club’s commitment to unity, fellowship, and community service.

The UL Club Sri Lanka convened its AGM at the Radisson Hotel, Colombo, in a gathering that emphasized both reflection and planning for the year ahead. Founded to unite former employees of Air Lanka and SriLankan Airlines, the Club has consistently fostered camaraderie, lasting friendships, and collective engagement in social responsibility initiatives. The meeting served as a platform to review accomplishments, discuss strategic priorities, and reaffirm the Club’s mission of service and inclusivity.

A special tribute was paid to outgoing President Captain Gihan Fernando, whose tenure was marked by dedication and contributions that strengthened the Club’s activities and reputation. Members expressed deep appreciation for his leadership, highlighting the positive impact of his guidance on organizational growth and community engagement.

During the AGM, new Office Bearers were officially elected and appointed for 2025/26. Ms. Shanaaz Preena assumed the role of President, bringing fresh energy and focus to the leadership team. She will be supported by Vice Presidents Mr. Ajith Weerasekera and Dr. Shreen Wilatgamuwa. The positions of Secretary and Treasurer continue under Ms. Susan Jurianz and Ms. Rukmani Manohar, respectively, ensuring continuity and experience within the executive committee.

President Ms. Shanaaz Preena expressed her gratitude and commitment, stating, “It is an honour to be entrusted with the leadership of the UL Club Sri Lanka. I look forward to working closely with our dedicated committee and members to further strengthen our unity and expand our social responsibility efforts for the betterment of our community.” Her statement emphasized the Club’s ongoing focus on fellowship, service, and the cultivation of meaningful relationships among members.

Secretary Ms. Susan Jurianz highlighted the trust and confidence of the membership, noting, “The continued trust placed in the committee reflects the strong bond among our members. We are committed to ensuring that the Club continues to thrive while upholding its values of fellowship, service, and inclusivity.” Her remarks reinforced the Club’s dedication to maintaining both organizational stability and community engagement.

The AGM concluded on a positive and forward-looking note, with members recommitting to the UL Club Sri Lanka’s mission of unity, service, and shared purpose. Through this renewed leadership, the Club aims to enhance its social initiatives, foster closer connections among members, and uphold the traditions and values that have long defined its role in the professional and broader community.
