Speaking at the weekly Cabinet media briefing, Minister Vijitha Herath stated that bids had been invited to identify a licensed service provider capable of supplying Microsoft licenses and associated support services to SriLankan Airlines. According to the minister, two bidders had submitted proposals during the procurement process.

Following the evaluation process, Cabinet approved the proposal to award the contract to Crayon Software Lanka, which was identified as the lowest responsive bidder among the applicants.

The agreement comes at a time when airlines globally are continuing to strengthen digital infrastructure and modernise enterprise systems to improve operational efficiency, cybersecurity, communication platforms, and business continuity capabilities.
