Dialog Axiata reports strong first-half growth as revenue reaches Rs.95.52bn

Dialog Axiata reported a profit of Rs.10.11 billion for the quarter ended June 30, representing a 99.64 percent increase from the Rs.5.06 billion recorded during the corresponding quarter of 2025. The company reported basic earnings of Rs.1.10 per share for the three-month period.

The strong quarterly performance also contributed to a substantial improvement in first-half profitability. For the six months ended June 30, Dialog Axiata recorded a profit of Rs.19.30 billion, marking a 109.85 percent increase compared with the first half of 2025.

The company’s revenue performance remained a key contributor to the improvement. Total revenue for the six-month period reached Rs.95.52 billion, supported by continued growth across mobile, fixed telephony and television operations. The results highlight the contribution of multiple business segments to the group’s overall financial performance.

The mobile business remained the largest contributor to revenue, generating Rs.74.23 billion in external revenue during the first half of the year. Fixed telephony and broadband operations contributed a further Rs.13.87 billion, reflecting the importance of connectivity services to the group’s revenue base.

Television operations also made a significant contribution, generating Rs.7.42 billion during the six-month period. The combined performance of the group’s connectivity and entertainment businesses helped strengthen its overall top line amid continued demand for telecommunications and digital services.

Operating profit increased substantially during the period, reaching Rs.25.86 billion compared with Rs.17.11 billion a year earlier. The improvement indicates stronger operating performance, while net finance costs declined to Rs.3.35 billion, providing additional support to the group’s bottom line.

Dialog Axiata also maintained a sizeable balance sheet, with total assets reaching Rs.302.43 billion as of June 30, 2026. Total equity attributable to owners of the parent stood at Rs.89.06 billion.

During the quarter, the group continued its legal entity simplification initiative, aimed at streamlining dormant and non-core subsidiaries. The company completed share transfers involving entities including Headstart (Private) Limited and Telecard as part of the ongoing restructuring process.

The company’s shareholder base remained broad, with a public holding percentage of 15.85 percent spread across 27,457 shareholders. Its float-adjusted market capitalization stood at Rs.67.22 billion, highlighting its continued significance within Sri Lanka’s listed telecommunications sector.

The company’s strong earnings performance was also reflected in market trading. Dialog Axiata shares last traded at Rs.47.40, representing a 1.95 percent increase.

The latest results position Dialog Axiata among the major corporate earnings stories in Sri Lanka, with substantial growth in both quarterly and first-half profit. Continued performance across mobile, broadband and television operations will remain important as the company moves through the remainder of the financial year.
